Certified Dental Lab
Many individuals do not realize that there are more regulations to operate a hair salon than to operate a dental lab. Only a handful of states require dental laboratories to be registered and to follow state mandated guidelines.
The National Association of Dental Laboratories is a national, voluntary governing body which promotes registration and professionalism within the dental laboratory industry. Their program, the CDL (Certified Dental Laboratory), is a voluntary program which certifies and monitors all aspects of the dental laboratory from recordkeeping, to hazmat labeling and storage to health and safety within the laboratory. These guidelines follow a code which was devised for the dental industry and incorporates many of the mandates that must be followed by dental offices and other dental manufacturers according to the ADA and OSHA.
