Accutech’s Invisible Retainers are all made using the high quality thermoforming materials from Raintree Essix. These materials are the best available for this type of appliance. In order to get the best possible results for each case, we recommend that you consider the following qualities of each material and choose the one that best suits the individual patient. 
 

ACE Material:

·        Not recommended for bruxers.
·        Accepts acrylic and bonding agents.
·        Best consistency of thermoforming (superior fit).
·        Best clarity.
·        18 to 24 month life span.
·        Latex free.
 

 C+ Material:

·        Good for bruxers.
·        Does not accept acrylic or bonding agents.
·        Lower consistency of thermoforming.
·        Clarity: more cloudy appearance than ACE.
·        2 year life span.
 
 
 

 Contraindications for Invisible Retainers:

·        Cases treated with Rapid Palatal Expanders
·        Cases requiring some desirable settling of the posterior teeth
·        Phase I retention
 

Trimming Options:

When it comes to the trimming of invisibles, it truly is a clinicians preference. Scalloped or striaght, below the cervical line, etc. Its your choice, so please be sure to specify on our Rx as to how you prefer to have yours trimmed.
